Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Constantine Toumbis is a partner and principal surgeon at Citrus Spine Center in Crystal River, Florida. Specializing in lumbar, thoracic, and cervical surgery, he performs a full range of spinal procedures, from anterior spinal fusion and lumbar laminectomy to artificial disc replacement and scoliosis treatment. Dr. Constantine Toumbis regularly treats patients with common back ailments such as arthritis, neck pain, fractures, and degenerative disc disease.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Constantine Toumbis also holds certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He completed his MD with distinction in biomedical research from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He also holds a PhD in experimental pathology from State University of New York at Buffalo, where he studied topics such as the pathology of the aging human nervous system and diabetic eye disease.
Outside of his work as a clinician and researcher, Dr. Toumbis serves as a preceptor and courtesy assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He is also a surgical consultant and principal product designer with Alphatec Spine, where he develops the next generation of cervical spine implants.
